Essential Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, as we know it today, has an interesting history. French cosmetic chemist, Rene Maurice Gattefosse, burned his arm in a cosmetics laboratory accident. He immediately thrust his arm into the nearest container of cool liquid which happened to be lavender oil. The burning pain in his arm was immediately reduced and soothed by the liquid. He was particularly struck by the speed of recovery and how the burn left none of the usual scarring.
